Shilo Country Club - Soldier On Golf Day

Sans Limites, en collaboration avec Shilo Country Club, organise une journée de golf à Shilo, au Manitoba. Il s’agira d’un événement d’une journée qui aura lieu jeudi le 25 août 2022

Cette activité réunira les membres des FAC malades / blessés en service ou vétéran permettant aux participant de se connecter grâce au soutien par les pairs et l’encouragement d’un mode de vie sain et actif.
 
Cet événement offrira aux participants de Sans Limites l'occasion d'apprendre les techniques de base du golf grâce à l'instruction et à l'encadrement.
 
Ceci est ouvert uniquement aux membres actifs ou vétérans de Sans Limites dans la zone géographique de Shilo et Brandon. Il n'y a aucun coût et une assistance est fournie pour l'inscription et le remplissage des formulaires si demandé. L'assistance voyage n'est pas fournie pour cet événement car c'est dans la zone géographique de Shilo / Brandon.

L'instruction et le mentorat seront fournis par le personnel du Shilo Country Club, situé à Shilo, au Manitoba.
L'assistance tout au long de l'événement sera fournie par le Pro du club, Dave Scinocca et le Shilo Country Club.

Le nombre de participants est limité à huit (8).
 
Critères d’admissibilité :
Tout membre ou vétéran des FAC, de la région de Shilo/Brandon souffrant d’une maladie/blessure, physique ou mentale, permanente acquise pendant leur service; attribuable ou non, à leur service.
 
Membres en services :
Une autorisation médicale peut être demandée par votre chaîne de commandement.
 
Exigences physiques et mentales : 
La formation se déroulement conformément à vos restrictions d’emploi médicales (REM) et pourra être adaptée selon vos besoins. Les participants doivent être en mesure de soutenir 4 à 6 heures d’activité modéré à intense sans beaucoup de repos par jour.
 
Les participants doivent être capables d’effectuer un élan de golf sans problème et/ou sans être en violation de leur REM.
 
Veillez noter que cet événement se déroulera à la base des Forces armées canadiennes à Shilo, les participants peuvent donc être exposés à un environnement militaire quotidien.
 
Les participants doivent être confortables d’interagir dans un groupe avec d’autres membres des FAC et des membres civils.

COVID-19
Soldier On events are planned in accordance with municipal, provincial, territorial and federal public health measures (PHM) and regulations as well as the Canadian Armed Forces health policy and guidelines. The health and safety of Soldier On participants and staff, PSP staff, and CAF TG personnel are paramount.

While specific safety precautions for each event will depend on the scope, scale and location of the event, the utmost care will be undertaken to ensure the risk associated with the spread of COVID-19 is very low. Specific precautions, rules, regulations and observances will be communicated to selected participants for this specific camp in due course, but all applicants must be prepared to:
 
  • Be familiar with, and adhere to current PHM regulations and guidance;
  • Refrain from participating in a Soldier On event if they have tested positive for COVID-19, have come in contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 and/or are experiencing symptoms of the virus;
  • Practice physical distancing during activity, including the use of non-medical mask when appropriate;
  • Follow all safety precautions provided by Soldier On and its sport service providers;
  • Inform Soldier On immediately if you are not feeling well.
 Soldier on, during the conduct of this activity, shall:
 
  • Ensure that the event is conducted following the current PHM regulations and guidelines of the location in question;
  • Ensure that all staff and participants are using PPE properly and following necessary protocols;
  • Soldier On will cease the event if participants do not respect any of the health and safety protocols that are in place;
  • Ensure PPE, hand sanitizer and disinfectant supplies are available and used according to current PHM;
  • Continue to monitor the further provincial lifting of or changes in restrictions which may affect their operations;
Track physical interactions (time/date/attendees/location) on physical activity log

Confirmation details

The event OPI will confirm in writing with the participants selected for this activity.
 
An activity delivery questionnaire will be sent to selected participants to complete and return. This will assist the event OPI and the sport delivery partner with the planning of logistics and the activity.
 
A joining instruction will be issued prior to event; ensuring applicants are authorized to participate IAW applicable policies & eligibility criteria.

Conclusion

Shilo Country Club Soldier On Golf Day will encourage ill/injured serving CAF personnel and veterans to develop new skills and also to engage with others while personally challenging themselves in an active, healthy and fun environment.
